The image was found on a NYC Fire Department fans website, http://nycfire.net, and it's in Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format, rather than JPG or GIF. The original was 841×614 pixels, resized in by Photogallery by ImageMagick 'convert' to 760×555. Support for PNG images is new to Photogallery 3.00.
